St Vincent De Paul

Membership and Conferences – St Vincent de Paul Society – Good Works

Conference members meet regularly, usually weekly but at least fortnightly and no work of charity is foreign to them. Together they visit people in their homes, in hospitals, institutions or wherever else they may be found needing aid or comfort. Conference work is not limited to home visitation, members also meet and pray together at others times. To read more about the role of prayer in conferences please visit Spirituality of the Society.

Frassati Group

https://adriansharp.wordpress.com/tag/frassati-australia/ne_2014.htm

A growing young adult organisation is called the Frassati Society.  The name comes from a young man named Pier Giorgio Frassati (now blessed).  Young people looking for a role model and someone to identify with will find Frassati a vibrant outdoorsman who loved Christ, served the poor and got involved civically.  He lived in Italy until the age of 24 where he contracted polio from the poor that he frequently served.  The Frassati Society embraces four marks of Pier Giorgio’s life:

  • Prayer and Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament
  • Outdoor Adventures
  • Service to the poor and vulnerable
  • Political Involvement that embrace Christian ideals

About Us

St Patrick’s Parish in West Tamworth was established in 1928.

Our Parish aims to be a welcoming place for those seeking a Catholic Church community which is faithful to the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.  The Eucharist and prayer is central to our worship and service to God.

We aim to be faithful to the Catholic way of life, being modelled on the patron of our Parish, St Patrick.  In his words:

Christ with me, Christ before me,
Christ behind me, Christ in me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every person who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
